Extra Income

With a bad economy, everyone is talking about saving money. Cut back on expenses. Spend less. Save more. But not enough people are talking about increasing income. There are a few ways that you can increase income.

1. Get a 2nd job. Maybe work 2 or 3 nights per week at some store. Even if it only brings in a few hundred per week, that's still a nice addition to the monthly income. Or if you are in the kind of field that does freelance work (like a web designer) then try that. Put out ads on Craigslist or Guru.com.

2. Invest. The market is down. So investing money right now will pay off big later on. Unfortunately, it won't pay off at all right now... so this isn't a good option for most people.

3. Sell stuff. Your house is full of items you don't use anymore (books, clothes, movies) and they can all be sold online. Craigslist, Amazon.com, eBay are just a few of the sites you can use. By spending a little time, you can bring in a lot of money each month.

Here is a link to an article about selling things on eBay. It's a blog I read, devoted to saving money and increasing income. The post doesn't have anything special that you wouldn't already see as common sense, but it's still nice to see it laid out so well.
